Trad Multi Pitch Weekend in Wye Valley on 10th and 11th August

Trad climbing in Symonds Yat on the 10th and 11th August, that was the plan, and we (the two Alex’s, Simon, his son Leo and Mona) did it! A little bit. Plus a lot of mud sliding, getting rained and thundered at while sitting on a pitch and spending the night on an indecorous expensive camp site.

Highs:

Alex M losing his Trad Virginity on Golden Fleece (HS).

Leo being a very grown up teenager, not moaning once about the waiting and the wet, and the weirdos he spent the weekend with

Mona buying a beauty of a cam and using it on a finally gracefully sent VS called Offspring

Simon sent The Grobbler (VS) first thing after arrival, and Alex S lead the Peacock with its awkward overhanging start and pretty poor protection just before the rain put an end to the fun.

Lows:

It rained too much so we didn’t get to climb the pinnacle!
