We had packed our crampons but snow was not on the table, plenty of wind and rain instead. Starting from Blaen Y Glyn Uchar car park at 10AM and made or way from East to Pen Y Fan and then back a slightly different route. Through the fog we could sometimes catch a glimpse on how absolutely stunning the view from the so called horse shoe ridge would have been, had the weather been good. Altogether we made 19 kilometres in 6 hours, with about 700 m elevation gain, getting back to our van by 4PM, soaked from top to toes, but with big grins in our faces. Next trip will be Ben Nevis – can’t wait!
