Shall we do the tourist path only or take a left turn and walk along the Carn Mor Dearg (CMD) Arete to the summit? With 50 mph winds and lots of rain forecasted from noon, we were a bit hesitant, but then went for it anyway, and it really paid out: What a view!
Didn’t take long though until we got our good portion of gusts, fog, rain and hale, therefor no awesome pics from the summit.
We stayed at the Alex McIntyre BMC hut close by, costing only £13 per night and person for BMC members or affiliated clubs. Nice place to meet other climbers and mountaineers, and the showers were a treat too!
